7 PREPARATION TIPS FOR RED HAT RHCSA CERTIFICATION Red Hat’s certification is an effective way to gain or solidify skills and demonstrate mastery of the same. Whether you are looking to get your foot in the door of the IT world, or you are a seasoned Red Hat System Administrator looking to move up the ladder, Red Hat’s got you covered. 1. Make Sure to Adjust the Environment Imagine you start the RHCSA exam, you read in the tasks, and right when you need to work, you realize the keyboard layout is not what you expected. Other times, you may notice that the screen is too light, dim, or charged. Make sure you iron these out before you start. The keyboard layout of exams is en-US by default, so make sure you’re familiar with the design, or make sure you know how to change it. 2. Read the RHCSA Exam Tasks Carefully People require to get to work on objectives right away, but this is a common pitfall. The RHCSA exam tasks may not be in any particular order. Often, one task depends on another. Knowing all the tasks before you start working on any particular one gives you the necessary view on what to achieve at the end of the exam. 3. Know the Red Hat RHCSA EX200 Exam Objectives As you understand by now, Red Hat’s exams are purely about doing. Every exam has a set of goals, some of which you will be asked to perform. Though every aim is to a simple sentence, it contains more than you might think. 4. Using the Right Tools How you achieve the exam tasks that is up to you. Whether you practice a command-line tool or a graphical interface that is up to you, as long as it works. A typical example is a network manager for managing networking with RHEL. 5. Documentation There is no point in becoming a performance-based exam where the exam takers have to learn all the objectives by heart! That is why you are often provided some documentation, and you should use it to your advantage. 6. Review, Review, Review! If you have got some time left at the end of an exam, make sure that you did not undo one exam task by completing another one. The tasks are often related, so there is a real possibility that you might break another by setting one thing. If you review in the last 10 or 20 minutes and realize what has occurred to you, you at least understand your mistakes, even if there is no time to correct them. 7. Learn with Red Hat Red Hat gives training for their exams. This is hands down, the best way to study for the exams. The training is tested and should include everything you require to know for the RHCSA exam plus a little extra. However, even if you cannot attend any online or in-person training, definitely visit Red Hat’s learning community. Several course instructors are visiting the community, and should you have any practical questions, and you may find help there.
