Recommended activity is moderate physical activity at least 5 days per week for 30 minutes or more per day, vigorous physical activity on at least 3 days per week for at least 20 minutes per day, or both. The Future of Arthritis • By the year 2030, the number persons aged >65 years who have arthritis or a chronic joint disease will nearly double. • During 2005 through 2030, the percentage of the U.S. population is expected to increase from 12.9% to 20.0% • The number could jump from 21.4 million in 2005 to 41.1 million in 2030.
