Multi-billion Dollar Retailer Implements OM Plus Output Management System A multi-billion dollar retailer with over 1,300 locations has implemented OM Plus OMS to help resolve output management issues and save admin time and cost in an SAP and non-SAP ERP environment. This customer wanted to separate central custom batch process to remote stores printing from standard SAP printing. A need for this solution stemmed from needing easier management and greater scalability while still managing high availability. The main goals of this Output Management Solution ● Manage the document streams of “store printing” separately from corporate warehouse printing ● Achieve greater flexibility in document routing ● Greater scalability while maintaining a high degree of print reliability and print service availability OM Plus features used include: ● Load Balancing ● Delegated Multi System Control and Failover ● Certified SAP Interface ● Document Transformations to match printer capabilities ● Flexible document workflow definitions ● Enterprise troubleshooting tools ● OM Plus Delivery Manager OM Plus Delivery Manager Delivery Manager is SAP proven, advanced, intelligent, print spooling output management software designed to seamlessly complement SAP ERP and other SAP packages’ output. For SAP output management, OM Plus ingests, manages, and monitors the delivery of output requests from any number of SAP systems, as well as non-SAP systems. OM Plus increases reliability and scalability, managing and monitoring document delivery, especially to printers with bi-directional communication with the devices to confirm print occurs (where, when, and how much) as needed. There is also bi-directional communication with the SAP applications and available user feedback too. In the case of print failure, automated actions can occur such as fail-over and notification. OM Plus can report the printer status of each job back to the SAP users so they can view the status, and take the appropriate action.

  2. OM Plus is a perfect complement to SAP and other ERP suites’ Logistics Management (MM, SD, QM, PM, PP, CS, WM), Transportation, and Supply Chain Management (TMS, SCM) systems. OM Plus improves the performance of production line and shipping environments by reducing print errors, failing-over in the case of printer failure, load balancing to increase throughput, managing bar-code printing, creating print packets, re-ordering print, and many more features.
