Elements of a Web Site We will evaluate the way in which the content is organized, the design metaphors used, and the overall style and content of the following sites: Souflare -http://www.soulflare.com/ Mulan - http://disney.go.com/DisneyVideos/Masterpiece/shelves/Mulan/ Saturn -http://www.saturn.com/ Font Bureau -http://www.fontbureau.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi Before we start, locate them on the Web and navigate on them for a while.

  4. Souflare -http://www.soulflare.com/ (1) Content: The information provided on this site is complete in the sense that its purpose is clear, to expose its audiences to an open virtual gallery of modern art and to provide links to other on-line art resources.

  5. Souflare -http://www.soulflare.com/ (2) Presentation: The design is inspiring. The use of color and graphics is meaningful, eye catching and add consistency to the pages that makes them easier and more pleasant to follow. Thumbnails are used to optimize the download time of images.

  6. Souflare -http://www.soulflare.com/ (3) Navigation: The navigation concept is easy to understand and consistent. Frames provide a hierarchical structure for navigation. The display of page titles and rollover bottoms increase this effectiveness because of their attractive easy to use design.

  7. Mulan http://disney.go.com/DisneyVideos/Masterpiece/shelves/Mulan/ (1) Navigation: It provides links to different Web sites and many other features included on this Web Site. Presentation: Good use of graphics and background to retract the Web site purpose. Content: The Web Site purpose is objectively presented.

  8. Mulan http://disney.go.com/DisneyVideos/Masterpiece/shelves/Mulan/ (1) The pages provide different attractions to the audience. Good use of animations and correct balance between text and graphics. Its content provides background, additional links and meaningful information on every page.

  9. Saturn -http://www.saturn.com/(1) Navigation: The navigation bar is clear, direct and well designed. Presentation: Good use of Splash screen. Very good use of animation. Content: The site purpose is clear .

  10. Saturn -http://www.saturn.com/(2) The animation that makes the transition between the splash screen and the other pages is fantastic. Good use of music and graphics. The quality of the image is excellent. The whole design conception is clean and very well done.

  11. Font Bureau -http://www.fontbureau.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi Navigation: The navigation bar is present in each page, given changing according to the content. Presentation: The two columns strategy was a good option to feet the text in one screen. Content: It is clear the Web site purpose and target audience.

  12. Font Bureau -http://www.fontbureau.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi The site employs an effective combination of text and image.The other pages presentation is very good. Each page add new information in an objective way. The choice for the pop-up menu was very cleaver.

  13. Assignment 01 • Now, you will research on the Internet on a topic of your choice and comment the Web Sites found at the Investigation Notes I located on the Assignment section. Please, download it and after you have completing, post it in your space at the Student Space section.

Assignment 02 Now, you will be required to identify the good Web Sites from your research, noticing the way that the content is organized, the design metaphors are used, and the overall style and content are displayed.
