  4. What is Godliness? Godliness does not mean God-like-ness. eusebeia “reverence, respect, piety towards God” (Thayer). compound word: “well” “to be devout”

  5. How Do We Add Godliness? Exercise ourselves toward godliness (1 Timothy 4:7-8) 1 Timothy 6:3 Titus 1:1

  6. Why We Need Godliness • Nadab and Abihu (Lev. 10:1-3) • Sons of Eli (1 Sam. 2:12-17, 22, 27-29, 3:13) Without reverence, we are unacceptable, cut off from God.

  7. Reverence For the Things of God • The Church • The Truth • Marriage / Sexuality • Man

  8. “Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. For our God is a consuming fire.” Hebrews 12:28-29
