SETTLEMENT OF IDLE OR ABANDONED LAND • Area of abandoned land : 7,3 million hectares • Direct Opportunity Loss $ 54,5 Billion/year • Total Opportunity Loss $ 634,4 Billion/year • Government Strategy, Government take over of the abandoned land based on the mandate of the Basic Agrarian Law (Part of Agrarian Reform Agenda)
IV. LAND CONFLICT RESOLUTION Total land conflict : 7.491 cases covering 608.000 Ha STRATEGY Resolved the existing land conflict, ex. in 2008 : 1.778 cases solved. Better management of land ownership and control in the future.
