SETTLEMENT OF IDLE OR ABANDONED LAND • Area of abandoned land : 7,3 million hectares • Direct Opportunity Loss $ 54,5 Billion/year • Total Opportunity Loss $ 634,4 Billion/year • Government Strategy, Government take over of the abandoned land based on the mandate of the Basic Agrarian Law (Part of Agrarian Reform Agenda)

  12. IV. LAND CONFLICT RESOLUTION Total land conflict : 7.491 cases covering 608.000 Ha STRATEGY Resolved the existing land conflict, ex. in 2008 : 1.778 cases solved. Better management of land ownership and control in the future.
