Improving access to finance • 2 financial COSME instruments: • Equity Facility for Growth (EFG) to invest in SMEs in expansion phase • Loan Guarantee Facility (LGF) to provide debt guarantees for SMEs • Supported by 2 H2020 financial instruments • Equity Facility for R&I • SME Guarantee Facility for R&I • Through the European Investment Fund € 163 M (2014)

Improving access to market • A one-stop shop for SMEs • Stimulating development of new markets • Implementation of international business strategy • Bespoke research (regulations, country, sector) • Protection and exploitation of IP and trademark • Finding International partners for SME • Training programmes: e.g. SME managers (TBC) • Numerous added value opportunities

Improving “framework conditions” • Objectives • Reducing administrative burden: register company in 2 days • Supporting smart regulation (e.g. Small Business Act) • Enhance productivity, resource efficiency, sustainability and corporate social responsibility. • Tools • Statistical analysis, benchmarking, policy monitoring (SME feedback, Consultations) • Workshops and exchanges of best practices between policy makers (e.g. SME Envoys)

Improving “framework conditions” • Objectives • Accelerating the emergence of competitive industries. • Stimulate development of new markets and competitive business models. • Tools • Support to Clusters (Internationalization, Excellence, Cluster Observatory, etc.) • Sectorialpolicies (e.g. tourism, digital-economy, construction)

WP2014: Cluster internationalisation • Objectives: • Intensify cluster and business network collaboration across borders and sectoralboundaries • Promoting pan-European Strategic Cluster Partnerships • Actions: • Cluster Go International: Services to support preparatory actions for the establishment and running of European Strategic Cluster Partnerships • Creation of European Cluster Collaboration Platform € 3M (2014) What % for NW?

WP2014: Enhancing European tourism • A number of activities will be implemented under the five operational objectives: • Increasing tourism flows in low season • Diversifying the EU tourism offer and products • Enhance tourism quality, sustainability, accessibility, skills, information and innovation • Improving socio-economic knowledge of sector • Increasing Europe's visibility as a tourist destination as well as its diverse destination € 8.7M (2014) What % for NW?

Enhancing European Entrepreneurship • Objectives: • Developing entrepreneurial skills and attitudes, • especially among new entrepreneurs, young people and women, supporting mentoring schemes, promoting social entrepreneurship • Programmes • Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs • Women’s entrepreneurship • Senior’s entrepreneurship • Digital entrepreneurship • Entrepreneurship education • Support for entrepreneurship policy
