  2. Operations • Instituted self-evaluation process • Two programs utilizing tools developed • Member self-assessment will begin • Improved internal communications • Listserv launched for representatives • E-zine developed

  3. Membership • Decreased fees in response to economic climate • Changed membership criteria to include highly selective public schools • Added one new member

  4. New Directions • Planning for the growth of our faculty centered work, CHAS is preparing grant proposals for the Ford Foundation featuring: • Increased funding for pedagogy grants • Two faculty forums annually • Sustained dialogues among faculty members following the annual forums • Research collaboration with a graduate school of education on benefits of diversity in higher education

Events and Programs • CHAS Faculty Grants for Promoting Student Achievement – 2009 • 7 grant applications received from 7 member schools • 5 grants awarded, totaling $30,000 • Grant recipient reported to CHAS representatives at January meeting • Grant recipient reporting to CHAS representatives at June meeting • Grant recipient reporting at Humanities and Writing Centers conference

  6. Events and Programs • Multicultural Affairs Targeted Professionals Meeting – October 23, 2009 • 27 participants from 16 member schools • Listserv created to sustain dialogue and facilitate collaboration

  7. Events and Programs • Black and Latino Males Conference – November 13-15 2009 • Over 120 attendees from 15 schools • Dialogue sustained among students via Facebook

  8. Events and Programs • Career Services – Targeted Professionals Meeting – March 26, 2010 • Attended by 24 career service professionals from 14 schools • Listserv developed to sustain dialogue and include input from multicultural affairs professionals

  9. Events and Programs • Writing Center Professionals and Humanities Conference – June 25, 2010 • Annual humanities faculty forum restructured to promote dialogue and collaboration with writing center professionals • 36people registered to participate
