The Learning Place

1. The Learning Place The learning place is a registered site for teachers. It allows teachers with passwords to access a variety of useful resources that may be beneficial in a classroom. It provides a range of ideas for different KLA’s, lessons plans for a variety of KLA’s, teaching ideas and suggestions that ensures students have the knowledge and ability to understand the topic being learnt. The learning place has reliable sites that they can provide students with such as educational Queensland sites . The learning place is suitable as it ensures teachers that students are being provided with relevant and reliable information and sources.

2. The website provides a range of information for both teachers and students. It has a staff learning place, a student learning place, as well as a demonstration and online tutorials of the learning place.

3. For teachers The website provides teachers with new resources available, the latest news, and featured resources and activities they can access.

4. For teachers A list of resources are provided to support teachers in a particular topic. A variety of KLA’s are included.

For students: A number of other activities are available for students to participate in on the learning place, such as: • Voice thread – allows students to create their own digital stories. • Blogs • Chats • Forums • Projects • Competitions • Conferencing services – web, voice, video. • Online mentoring

7. For students A variety of activities are available for students to participate in against children from other schools.

8. For students • A variety of collaborative online projects are available. Things such as: • Student discuss ions on books, films, music etc. • Travel buddies – soft toys go on adventures to participating schools. • Virtual field trips – students share data about places they cannot go to themselves. • General projects – students participate in a variety of project types.
