The PROCEED Team • We are a multidisciplinary Diabetes and Obstetrics Team from Derby and Derbyshire. • We have a track record for innovative service development. • In 2005 we were: • Awarded a Health and Social Care award for restructuring our antenatal service. • Recognised by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists for “making a contribution to maternity services through excellence and innovation”. • Paru King (PROCEED lead and Consultant Physician) led a NHS live project to raise preconception awareness in 2006. • The success of the project was recognised at a Prime Minister’s reception for excellence in public services in 2007. • Paru King and Jacquie Donaldson (Diabetes Education Lead, Derbyshire Community Health Trust) were part of a NHS Diabetes Task and Finish Group 2008-10 that produced a series of web pages on the subject of preconception care and designed the user literature used for PROCEED. • This partnership was recognised in the Association of Healthcare Communications and Marketing Award 2011, where we were “highly commended”
