Hypothesis 1: When there are large amounts of agriculture, the QHEI of a watershed decreases.
Conclusion: Agriculture lowers QHEI scores because: • Riparian zone reduced • Siltation
Hypothesis 2: Increasing the quality of the substrate will increase IBI and ICI.
Conclusion: • ICI depends on the substrate • IBI depends on ICI • If substrate is unhealthy, the ICI and IBI are affected
Hypothesis 3: As dissolved oxygen increases in the Scioto Bokes, the IBI and ICI increase.
Conclusion: As the dissolved oxygen increases, the IBI and ICI also increase. There is an exception, where IBI and ICI appear to be affected by modification of the habitat (dams).
Recommendations: • Restart the cleanup process of Baker Wood • Control urbanization along streams • Develop cost share program
