Objectives • To consider one person’s perspective on leadership. • To reflect on qualities that make a good leader. • To recognize and understand that “leadership” comes in different forms and different styles. • Provide you with activities that you can use in your classes and some additional resources.

  4. A leader should provide encouragementto those around him/her. In other words, he or she needs to be a cheerleader for them.

  6. 3 Beliefs About Leadership • Just because you are in a leadership position doesn’t necessarily mean you are a leader. • You don’t have to be THE leader to be a leader. • A leader has an overall vision, sees the big picture, and is the catalyst to move toward that vision.

  7. A few important qualities for a leader to possess… A good leader provides opportunities for those around him/her to become leaders.

  8. Now you have the opportunity to become a leader! Move It, Move It! • Movement or exercise must be simplistic • A movement the average person can perform
