TEAM Parents • Parents are encouraged to register with USAH as a Volunteer / Non-Participant – No cost • Allows Parents to complete the Safe Sport Training Module – Highly recommended • Allows Parents to take advantage of USAH programs and view various sites offered by USAH
Locker Room Policy • Random monitoring of locker rooms by screened volunteers; coach, manager, or assigned parent • Cell phones or other mobile recording devices are not permitted to be used for taking pictures or video in the locker rooms • Prohibited are bullying, harassment, hazing, and any type of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, that may occur between players, or between adults and players - Violations must be reported
Home Team Pre-Game Responsibilities • Clock Person • Official Scorer – Score Sheet & Pointstreak • Score Sheet – Accurate, legible, complete • Curfew Time initialed by both Coaches • EMT is present (one for each surface) • Scorekeeper and EMT sign score sheet • Referee PRINTS name on score sheet
Home Team Post-Game Responsibilities • Score Sheet signed by Officials and Coaches • Copies to each Team (pink or yellow) • Copy to Officials if requested (goldenrod) • Top copy (white) mailed to Division Statistician within 3 days • Pointstreak for All Games - MANDATORY
SUSPENSIONS – GAME MISCONDUCTS • Report within 48 hrs to PAHL Discipline Director all Game Misconducts & Match Penalties • Mark the score sheet when served; fax or email to PAHL Discipline Director
SCORE SHEET • ACCURATE –LEGIBLE – COMPLETE Blue or Black Ink Only Print Do Not Skip Lines • Use note pad or paper to initially mark down Goals / Assists, Penalties, Shots on Goal • Then transfer to score sheet
SCORE SHEET -POINTSTREAK • Complete the Paper Score Sheet first: Goals, Assists, Penalties • Input information into Pointstreak Terminal • FAILURE to complete POINTSTREAK within 48 hours of the game will result in a $25.00 fine per game
POINTSTREAK OPTIONS: 1) Score the game in real time with terminal 2) Score the game within 48 hrs with terminal at rink (must enter proper date / time) 3) Score the game within 48 hrs on a secondary device (PC /laptop/Ipad)
POINTSTREAK • Officials Names entered • Game Notes Section EMT’s Name Any Injuries • Finalize Game: End Game, Game Complete Enter Username/password, SEND Wait for Pointstreak Logo to appear
USA Hockey – Rule Changes2011-2012 • Major Penalty (5 min) – Immediately in Box • Removed “Body Checking” from PeeWee Div Allows Body Contact • FIGHTING – Additional Suspensions Three (3) games for second fight with same team / season Third Fight – Suspended until Hearing
USA Hockey – Rule Changes2011-2012 • MATCH Penalty for removing your helmet or opponent’s helmet during or prior to altercation • GAME Misconduct for a helmet that comes off during an altercation • Head Contact – Major plus Game for any intentional or reckless contact to head, face or neck of opponent
USA Hockey –Rule Changes2011-2012 • Delayed Off-Sides for Bantam and Midgets • Holding of Opponent – Major plus Game for grabbing the face mask, rubbing (facewash) the face mask, holding the face mask. Permits Official to issue a MATCH if the player grabs the face mask and pulls or jerks the opponents head.
USA Hockey – Rule Changes2011-2012 • Allows a game to continue if no Team Officials are present on the bench due to Penalty, Injury or Illness. A “Responsible Adult” is permitted to take over control of the Team for the remainder of the game. It is preferred that the adult be USA Hockey certified, but is not required • The game will be suspended if no adult is available
USA HOCKEY – Rule Changes2013-2017 • Prohibits use of any electronic device to question, challenge or dispute an Officials call or decision while a game is in progress • Game Misconduct to be assessed to player who gets a second misconduct penalty in the same game • New Penalty Options for Boarding, Charging and Head Contact 2/10, 5/game or Match

USA HOCKEY – Rule Changes2013-2017 • PROGRESSIVE SUSPENSIONS – Coaches • Team receiving three Major Penalties in a Game HeadCoach is Suspended the next Game • Subsequent Game with 3 or more Majors Head Coach is Suspended 3 Games • Third Game with 3 or more Majors Head Coach is Suspended pending a Discipline Hearing
COACHES • In addition to the Level 1 - 5 CEP training , coaches must also complete Age Specific Module training components specific to the level of play they are coaching, (Mite, Squirt, PeeWee, Bantam, Midget, Girls)if they have not already taken that component. This requirement applies to all coaches at all levels, 1 through 5. Coaches may complete more than one age-specific component in any given season .
COACHES • By signing the “Score Sheet” you are acknowledging that you have checked the score sheet and agree with all entries .
USA Hockey Teams - Canada • Canadian Travel Permits • All USA Hockey teams traveling to Canada to play games against Canadian Hockey Association (CHA) teams must obtain a USAH Travel Permit, Travel permits should be requested no later that 14 days prior to departure from District Registrars • www.hockeycanada.ca
