OBJECTIVES • To increase awareness of the role and services rendered by the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (BOMBA). • To bridge the gap between our youth and the Malaysian Fire and Rescue personnel. • To broaden our youth’s consciousness and knowledge on fire and rescue hazards, preventative actions, as well as corrective measures.

Proposed itinerary • 11.00am – Welcome address by DICM Emcees • 11.10am – Speech by Vice Chancellor, Prof. Hassan • 11.15am – Launch of Taylor’s Safety & Security Campaign • 11.30am – Presentations by RMP, DOSH, FRDM & PEMADAM • 12.30pm – Code Red (Demonstrations by FRDM) > Scaling down Block C > K9 Squad demonstration > Fire extinguishing demonstration > Water rescue demonstration • 2.00pm – End *tentative*
Significance of name • Code Red is an internationally recognized radio sign to indicate a high level of preparedness or an emergency/combat situation. • Accompanied by the highly stylized logo of a flame and firefighter, we believe this contemporary icon is able to instantly communicate the essence of our event at one glance. • Code Red will provide the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department to provide an interactive platform to engage our students and staff in adrenaline pumping activities.

PROJECTED EXPENSES • Sound system – RM1,000 (SOC) • Launch gambit – RM500 (SOC) • Printing (Banner, Bunting, Posters, Flyers, Backdrop) – (I.M.) • T-shirts – RM35/shirt (self-funded) – (SOC + I.M.) • Door gifts for VIP (I.M.)

TRADITIONAL MEDIA • Newspapers – Sending out pre & post-event press release to targeted media to aid in gaining coverage for the event. • Radio – Reaching out to targeted radio stations to broadcast about the event (e.g. Hitz.FM’s website has an InfoBoard where we can submit details about upcoming events) • Flyers – To be handed out before the event, placed on car windscreens at basement parking lot and outdoor parking lot. • Posters – To be pasted around campus, e.g. commercial block restaurants, academic block classrooms, U-Residence, Gym, computer labs, library, divisional offices, lecturer staffrooms
TRADITIONAL MEDIA • Banner & buntings – To be hung at a specific spot in campus, closer to the date buntings to be hung on street lamp posts around campus. • Taylor’s computer desktops – Place the poster as the desktop wallpaper • Campus TV – Play our teaser video.
