Endangered means that the species is seriously at risk of becoming extinct.
Since 1600 A.D. more than 700 species have gone extinct world wide.
There are a total of 427 endangered species just in Australia.
In the past 200 hundred years about 17 different mammals have become extinct.
4 mammals, 6 birds, 2 reptiles, and 3 species of fish are listed as critically endangered

Climate change, habitat destruction, invasive weeds, and feral animals threaten 20% of Australia’s animal population with extinction.
Chemicals such as pesticides or those that get into the water endanger animals within or around the water.
Pollution is a dynamic part in plants and animals becoming endangered.
