Places visited Indra Nagar (Karoli) Primary SchoolGhamji CRC CentreGhamij Upper Primary School • Indra Nagar (Karoli) Primary School • Class I to VI • Multi grade teaching • No. of children – 66 ( Boys-37 & Girls -29) • No. of teachers – 4 (Male -3 & Female-1) • No. of classrooms – 4 • No. of toilets – 2 (1 for girls & 1 for boys) • Drinking water facility – piped water available

  3. Books of Accounts • Maintained all the prescribed books of accounts • However, the maintenance of asset register and stock register need further improvement . • Annual physical verification of stock / asset was last carried out in 2004. • Needs to be carried out on annual basis. • Stock register was verified by the CRC on 12th August 2010.

  4. Community participation • Effective community participation • No. of VEC members – 7 (male – 5 & female- 2) • quarterly meetings are regularly held. • Proceedings are recorded and available • The Team could also interact with the community members. • The community is very happy and satisfied with the functioning of the school. • VEC manual is available

  5. Accounting • The cash book and other books of accounts are maintained properly. • The guidelines issued for the utilisation of annual grants are available in the cash book itself. • All the grants are correctly accounted for and also expenditure. • Bank account opened in a Nationalised Bank ( Bank of Baroda) • Interest credit by the bank is also credited the cash book on the same day. • Display board is updated and placed outside for the public viewing.

  6. Procurement • Minimum 3 quotation are taken for all purchases above Rs. 2000. • Less than Rs. 2000 local shopping procedure is adopted. • Community is consulted before making any purchasing. • Civil works for addition classroom for Rs. 3,61,450 was approved in 2009-2010. • Work started on 8-8-2009 and completed on 17-2-2010. • Final cost was Rs. 3,61,300 resulting in a savings of Rs. 150, which needs to be refunded to SSA account.

  7. Pedagogy • TLM is used correctly and items are available in the classroom for the benefit of the students. • Textbooks are issued to all students well in time . • Record of the textbook distribution is available. • The standard of teaching needs further improvement particularly in a multi-level teaching.

  8. Gamij Upper Primary School • Class I to VII • No. of children – 277 ( Boys-164 & Girls -113) • No. of teachers – 8 (Male -2 & Female-6) • No. of classrooms – 11 • No. of toilets – 4 (2 for girls & 2 for boys) • Drinking water facility – piped water available

Party (m/s Ajay Computer Centre) with 11 computers, 1 teacher and 1 sweeper-cum-watchman (salary being paid by them).

  14. CRC - Ghamij • All the accounts are maintained properly in the prescribed books of accounts. • The Team could see the cluster level training provided to teachers on TLM preparation. • The CRC housed in its own building with a hall and an office room.
