  1. The Civil WarHow Would America React If the Outcome of the Civil War WasDifferent?

  2. Economic Differences -If the Civil War’s outcome was different, we would have two different countries, which would have two very different economies. -The North would still be mainly a manufacturing and industrial country. This could be bad because the industrial economy isn’t always the same. -The South on the other hand would be extremely agricultural. This is also could be a bad thing because the demand for agricultural products isn’t always the same, and the market would be different.

  3. Governmental Differences -If the outcome of the Civil War would have been different, we would have two different countries because the South was only interested in gaining independence, not looking to conquer the North. -The 13th and 14th amendments may not have been written because they dealt with the use of slavery and slaves rights. -The South may have grown into a larger nation depending on the rate of growth to the West.

  4. Civil Rights Differences -Today, slavery would be still in use widely in the South. -The Civil Rights Movements of the 1960’s would never have happened because most blacks would still be in slavery, and couldn’t be educated and wouldn’t be able to organize such movements. -Because many blacks would still be held in slavery, this could cause slave uprisings to be more common causing danger to both the slaves, and their masters.

  5. Conclusion -Today, if the Civil War had a different outcome, many things would be different. -Slavery would definitely be in use in the South, and blacks rights would be much different today. -Many events in our government’s history may never have happened. -More than one Civil War may have been fought because of a renewed interest of re-taking the Confederate States of America back into the Union.
