On Monday morning all the Year Five’s were buzzing with excitement! We were about to go to the best camp ever! Sunny days, Ngamoko walk, muddy caves and crystal clear water. What a tiring week at camp!
Monday After driving for three hours we finally got there! We organised where everyone was sleeping. I slept in the boys dorm. We had a walk to the lake. I thought it was going to be a dumb walk but it was really fun.
Tuesday On Tuesday all of the boys woke up at about six o’clock a.m. They were really loud. Cooked breakfast, packed day pack, dressed in warm clothing and started driving to the Ngamoko walk. We stopped at a 1000 year old tree for morning tea then we kept on going. It took 2 hours and 30 minutes to get up it at the top, we had our lunch. Then it took 2 and a half hours to get down. I felt very proud of myself.
Wednesday In the morning we had a cooked breakfast, we did some chores and we wrote a prayer. We walked to Lake Waikareiti, the best lake ever! It was the brightest lake ever.
Thursday On Thursday we woke up, we had some breakfast, we were ready to go caving. We went through 8 caves. Caving took 3 hours. After caving we went to a park and played rugby with the adults.
Friday We woke up and had breakfast. We packed and cleaned then we drove to Wairoa and had chip butties for lunch. We stopped at the gas station to get some petrol. Me and Bradley got a fizzy drink each. It was an extraordinary camp!
