Tim Bitici knows fashion. He knows creativity and what it means to be classy, chic and elegant. Style has always been in his blood. As a teenager, he felt that Vogue fed his soul more than food ever could. And it shows; his start in fashion was with an internship for Vanity Fair and Glamour magazines while attending Pace University. • And, he says, it’s a hard road. Despite what people may think, it isn’t always glamorous, but if you feel you have talent, with hard work and dedication, you can reach the top.
And reach the top, he did. Currently he’s the E-commerce Contributing Stylist at Henri Bendel – Limited Brands in New York City. He styles and creates the on-set photo shoots from concept to completion. He’s also the new contributing fashion editor at Nylon Magazine. • Nylon is an edgy magazine that accurately depicts New York City, matte and raw, rather than Hollywood-style gloss. Tim’s vision for this magazine is to mix high-end fashion with low-end fashion while keeping a cool street vibe.
For six full years, Tim Bitici was the Fashion and Art Director for “A” Magazine – a magazine he himself (along with his director and creative team) started up. It only took a year and “A” Magazine was Italy’s best selling Fashion Weekly and even today boasts 250,000 subscribers internationally. While with “A Magazine,” Tim directed and styled major photo shoots, both in the studio and on location worldwide. • He was responsible for launching the careers of many high profile models and photographers. Some of these models include Agyness Deyn, Candice Swanepoel and Crystal Renn. Tim Bitici choreographed over 300 editorial fashion stories while working for “A Magazine.”
His impressive career has been a long, varied one filled with fashion successes and a long list of admirers in the fashion industry. Tim Bitici describes himself as classic, simple and edgy. He doesn’t give a whole lot of credence to role models in general because Tim follows the beat of his own drum. • He believes that style isn’t taught, you’re just born with it and when you are, it can be felt by others like a living, breathing entity. Inspiration, however, is everywhere. Tim finds inspiration on city streets, London flea markets, and even old movies.
