  4. NEED There are thousands of children from Miami’s most challenged neighborhoods in need of HOLISTIC services. The vast majority of these children are minorities.

  5. MENTORING IS NOT ENOUGH! Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami with it’s new Headquarters, the Carnival Center for Excellence, is well positioned to provide pathways to success for children and families through a community collaboration model.

  6. BREAKING THE CYCLE • Breaking the cycle of delinquency and poverty by reaching Miami’s most vulnerable. • Thetarget population will include, but is not limited to: • Children in Foster Care • Disabled Children • Children with an Incarcerated Parent

  7. INNOVATIVE PROGRAMMING • First Responders Training and Certificate Program. (In partnership with Police, Fire and Emergency Management Personnel) • STEAM Programming. Science Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math, including a DJ Academy and Broadcasting Program. • Health & Wellness “Big Fitness” Programming. (Yoga for Kids and Families)

  9. EXPECTATIONS • Expand and improve Pathways to Excellence Programs • Increase Career Track Apprenticeship Programs • Increase access to new community resources • Increase community collaboration to provide holistic programming • Increase in individual donor investments

KEY OUTCOMES • Improve percentage of High School Graduation • Increase number of Scholarships awarded • Facilitate employability skills training at the Center for Excellence • Complete certification courses • Provide assistance with job placement and job interviews • Enhance opportunities for internships with community and corporate partners • Evidence Based Outcomes via Youth Outcome Survey (YOS) • Academic Grades • Risky Behaviors (i.e. violence prevention) • Social Skills • Self-confidence
