  3. General Information • Full IB Diploma is most recognized • Specific countries have very exact IB course requirements • May have to sit university or language exams • Application process timeline: • Deadlines in spring/summer of grade 12 • IB results available in July after WAB graduation

  6. Scandinavia • Sweden • If do not take Swedish A1 SL (self-taught), then must sit the TISUS exam • Sweden • Norway • Finland • Denmark

Germany • IB – specific subjects • Two languages • Math HL or SL (Studies not acceptable) • Science – Biology, Physics, Chemistry • Social Science, History, Economics or Geography • Subject Six – Elective Resolution of the Conference of Ministers of Education of 10.03. 1986, as amended on 26.06.2009

  8. Switzerland • Switzerland • Mother tongue • Second language • Social sciences: Geography, History or Economics • Natural sciences: Biology, Chemistry, Physics • Mathematics (*) • Elective (either a third language, or another natural science or mathematics)

  9. Netherlands • Courses with specific IB requirements: • Engineering, Medicine (most complex) • Dutch Universities with English Programs • Erasmus, Maastricht, Tilburg, University of Amsterdam, Utrecht, Rotterdam Business School, The Hague University, and many others.

France • Apply to the University between Nov. 1 and Jan. 15 • Need language proficiency • International students holding a IB Diploma have access to French universities; must take French as a 2nd language – so theoretically - without verifying their language level (Decree of 1981); • http://www.campusfrance.org/fr/

  11. Spain • University applications • Study in Spain • IB Diploma recognized • No other examinations required • The Spanish university entrance exam, "Selectividad", will no longer be required of students citizens from countries of the European Union (UE).

American-style universities • US-style liberal arts education at a lower cost than going to USA • Many business degrees recognized in US and EU countries; strong internships • Examples: • Webster University • Jacobs University Bremen • St. Louis University Madrid • American University in Paris • Franklin College Switzerland
