  4. Some Needs of Sensitive Fish • Very clear, clean water. • Cool water temperatures. • A clean, rocky stream bed. • A mix of “riffles, runs, and pools” in the stream. • Feed on insects and insect larvae.

  5. Some Characteristics of Urban Stormwater • High pollutant concentrations • Muddy during construction • Increases stream temperature • High flows damage habitat • Cannot support many macroinvertebrates (bugs).
