  3. Initiative CIIXP is an initiave of NIC-CI with the parternship of Cote d'Ivoire Telecom ( LIR and state own telco ) The projet has received now the support of 8 ISPs. Official launching is scheduled to next may An ISP association is also in projet.

  4. Internet Connectivity in RCI Since 2002 RCI has an internet connectivity with the SAT3 fiber. • The current capacity is based on 4 STM1 for CIT • 1 DS3 connection for AROBASE (2nd telco) • nE1 VSAT connections for some ISP

  5. Internet Connectivity in RCI • Traffic usage : • An average of 300 Mbps for AVISO ( ~ 18K DSL, 4K dial-up access, 150 lease line access) • 100 Mbps for other ISP • Connectivity price : • 2Mbps ~ 4000 US$ • 300Mbps ~ 177 000 US$

  6. CIIXP projet • Regulatory issues : • ATCI will be informed • IXP access : • CIIXP is a non commercial exchange point, ISPs only have to pay for the lease line to the IXP. • Site neutrality : • The IXP will be hosted by CIT under the resposability of NIC-CI

  7. CIIXP projet • IXP facilities : • CIT hosting • E1 access for ISP with a negociated prices • Cisco 2600 series routers and Catalyst 2900 switches • Layer 2 IXP • IXP access • Only to exchange local internet trafic

  9. Local traffic ISP2/ISP0 • ISP2/ISP0(AVISO) ~ 400Kbps

  10. Local traffic ISP3/ISP0 • ISP3/ISP0(AVISO) ~ 80Kbps
