Career Services central/local • Lund University / Career Services Centre • Local Career Centres around the faculties • Lund University centrally / VentureLab - focus on entrepreneurship Background • Career Services Centre started as a pilot project in 1996 with SACO (union) • Local career centres were later started at different faculties. • The School of Economics and Management: system for handling the career fairs (CV-database) in 2000.

The need for a database • Larger inflow of internships, jobs and thesis assignments • Companies interested in recruiting Lund University alumni. • Lund University alumni interested in career development. • Alumni can act as both employer and as employee/job seeker • The School of Economics and Management: need for a better CV-system

  4. Solution • One entry point for companies and organisations – more flexible and uniform for us.

Benefits • One entry point for companies and organisations – more flexible and uniform for us. • Convenient for students • A better tool for organising interviews for career fairs • Facilitates handling students and alumni in the same system • Good overview of which companies and organisations that are interested in Lund University students and alumni

  6. Pilot launch at the School of Economics and Management in September 2008 • Samday 2008: - Career Fair in October 2008 for Finance- and IT-students • eee2009: - Career Fair in February 2009 • Full capacity in December 2009

  7. www.cv.lu.se Vice-Chancellor Per Eriksson and Pro Vice-Chancellor Eva Åkesson officiallyopened the CV-database on October 14th 2009.

Benefits • More students interested in registering in the database. • The same system for both current students and alumni • Both current students and alumni have access to available job listings. • Employers have access to both students, graduates and alumni • A strong professional focus and a connection to Lund University after graduation.

  10. Current status • 2 500 registered students • 13 200 alumni • 500 company profiles • 200-400 listed ads per week
