Introduction Electronic learning or e-Learning is a general term used to refer to computer-enhanced learning. E-learning can be CD-ROM-based, Network-based, Intranet-based or Internet-based. It can include text, video, audio, animation and virtual environments. It can be a very rich learning experience that can even surpass the level of training you might experience in a crowded classroom.
Problem Teachers want to use the Internet to improve the education of their students, but many factors limit their ability to do so. The lack of funds for professional development of teachers on how to use the Net, the demand on time to find relevant materials on the Net, the limitations of inadequate resources, multiple modems or an ISDN line and the sheer drag speed of the Net itself restricts the ability of teachers to really use the Internet with any educational power.
One Solution However, internet technology can be used in a way that empowers teachers to overcome some of these problems allowing for greater interactivity. The solution may be found in their Local Area Network (LAN), faster, easier access. and more easily build and manage database of instructional media at school
Aims To enable and drive school as an instution to be the seedbed of the future knowledge-based society Improve the competence and creativity of teachers using technology Knowledge based society Digital literate Inventive Thinking Effective Communication High Productivity Integrating ICT in learning
