Science The Junior Certificate Science Prog course comprises of : • Physics, • Chemistry and • Biology There is a large number of practical experiments. Science leads on to many subjects at Leaving Certificate level ie. Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science & P&C.
Metalwork & Woodwork In Metalwork students make items such as: • photograph holders, • barrier games and • electronic circuits. In Woodwork students learn • about materials, • particularly wood, • how materials are formed and • how to make various products
Home Economics The practical part of this subject consists of cookery and an optional area of craft, childcare or textiles.
Music Students learn to play an instrument and perform in school concerts and in various shows. Students also learn about music theory.
Technical Graphics It involves learning how to: • draw plans using accurate measurements and • Freehand sketch
Art, Craft & Design Students will be taught to: • See and observe • Draw • Paint • Express themselves visually • Do calligraphy, • Model making • Print-making • Digital media
Computer Studies Two fully equipped computer suites . Students have one class of computers per week and are taught typing techniques and then progress to using the various Microsoft Office programmes.
