  2. What is the SX-300 The 5th generation of the Autoscope RTMS family Side-fired microwave detector Detects traffic information by lane across 250 ft. A non-intrusive alternative to in ground loop detection. Collects and aggregates by lane: Volume – amount of vehicles over a period of time. Speed – average speed of vehicles over a period of time. Occupancy – the dwell time of vehicles in the detectors field of view. Classification – the type of vehicle by length Average Gap or Headway information 85th Percentile information
  3. How it Works Uses the K-Band (24Ghz) microwave band. Sends a microwave pattern across the roadway. Vehicles passing reflect some of the energy back to the sensor. Detector is able to determine the location by the returned signals strength. Detector’s algorithms calculate the individual vehicles data. Individual data is aggregated over a period of time and sent as a statistical message.
