Limited Government • The Constitution creates a government with limited powers. • Federalism, separation of powers, & checks and balances restrict the government’s power. • Federalism – some powers belong to the national government & some belong to the states. Some power is shared: delegated, concurrent & reserved powers. • Separation of power prevents from abuse of power. • Checks and Balances prevents power abuse.
