TYPES OF SIN • Mortal Sin – A fundamental rejection of God’s love & we deny God’s graces. • “Mortal” means “death dealing” • For a sin to be mortal, three things must be present: • Serious matter • Sufficient reflection • Full consent
TYPES OF SIN (CONTINUED) • Venial Sin – A less serious rejection of God’s love • “venial” means – “easily forgiven” • When is a sin venial? • If the offense is not serious • If the matter is serious, the person is unaware of the evil, or does not fully consent
