Home Minister Rajnath Singh Monday attested that fleeing diamantaire Mehul Choksi won’t be saved and will be taken back to India to confront the law. Singh, who established the framework stone for a Kendriya Vidyalaya at a CISF camp, said this in light of an inquiry regarding Choksi surrendering his Indian Passport to the High Commission in Guyana. The precious stone gem specialist had taken citizenship of Antigua and Barbuda after his name sprung up in the $2 billion extortion at a Mumbai-based part of the PNBalongside his nephew and agent Nirav Modi. “We have brought the Fugitive Economic Offenders Act and there is a procedure under that law (to check misrepresentation cases). He (Choksi) will be conveyed to India without a doubt. Nobody will be saved. Move will be made against everybody,” the priest said on the sidelines of the occasion. According to the law, Indian subjects are relied upon to surrender their international IDs when they get remote nationality. Government sources said India keeps on pursueing Choksi’s arrival with the legislature of Antigua through political and lawful channels.
