  2. Key Stage 2 • Encourage more independence e.g. Changing own reading books, remembering homework, P.E. kit etc. • No playtime in the afternoon. • Line up in different places. • First sitting for lunch.

  3. Maths Topics • Number – number and place value, addition & subtraction, multiplication & division, fractions • Measurement • Geometry – properties of shapes • Data handling • Statistics – bar charts, pictograms and tables • Using and applying

  4. Literacy Topics • Stories with familiar settings • Information texts • Play Scripts • Instructions • Science fiction/fantasy stories • Discussion texts • Poetry • Explanations • Mystery stories • Non-chronological reports • Folktales and fairytales • Biographies

  5. Topic • Britain at War- Term 1 • Funny Bones - Term2 • Mighty Mountains - Terms 3 • Stone Age – Term 4 • Jack and the Beanstalk – Term 5 • Burghley House - Term 6

  6. Homework • Change their reading books when they need to and library books at lunch time. • Spellings set Monday and tested Friday. • Maths or Literacy set Thursday and in on Wednesday. • Reading for a short time each night -please sign. • Diaries checked on Friday.

  7. Trips • Trips to enhance topic throughout the year • St. George’s Church • Swimming Spring term Friday mornings
