  5. Introduction 20 years with the US Air Force in a “Fleet related capacity” 4 years in a supervisory capacity with Hillsborough County Fleet Management Currently pursuing an MPA to go with an MSM

  7. Fleet Management Operation Mission Fleet Management ultimately serves Hillsborough County residents through our departmental customers to ensure they have necessary vehicle/equipment assets and fuel to perform their primary duties and responsibilities

  8. Fleet Management Operation Personnel The Fleet Management Department is currently authorized 50 positions 34 positions are front-line vehicle and equipment mechanics The remaining personnel provide fuel support, administrative staffing and supervision

  9. Fleet Management OperationCustomers All departments under the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) and County Constitutional offices including the Clerk of Courts, Supervisor of Elections, Property Appraiser, and Tax Collector

  10. Fleet Management OperationEquipment Our products and services include the acquisition, fiscal support, fueling, maintenance, repair, and disposal of over 2800 fire apparatus, autos/light trucks, ambulances, heavy trucks, and small engines

  11. Fleet Management OperationFuel Customer fuel requirements are met through six automated sites which are strategically at our maintenance locations, along with two additional sites.

  12. Fleet Management OperationFuel Total storage capacity at these locations is approximately 75,600 gallons of diesel and 86,400 gallons of unleaded fuel

  13. Fleet Management OperationFuel Fleet Fuel Services also supplies fuel to the County’s Fire Department (37 stations with bulk tanks), Emergency Management (emergency shelters), Public Utilities, and Public Works to primarily support emergency generator requirements

  20. Fleet Management StrengthsTraining/Certification For today’s car owner, auto repair is more complicated than ever. Vehicles keep getting more complex, while technology and diagnostic tools constantly change as well. 34 employees have a combined 307 ASE Certifications

  21. Fleet Management StrengthsTraining/Certification At least 75% of technicians performing diagnosis and repairs must be ASE certified Each area of service offered in the shop must be covered by at least one ASE-Certified Technician All facilities have attained Blue Seal Recognition

Fleet Management StrengthsTraining/Certification The primary function of EVT is to test and certify emergency vehicle technicians.  EVT also encourages the development of effective training programs which address the training and educational needs of the emergency vehicle technician. 21 Employees with a total of 89 certifications

  23. Fleet ManagementRecognition Green Star is an industry friendly program designed recognize auto repair facilities that go above and beyond environmental compliance through the use of Best Management Practices (BMPs) and Pollution Prevention (P2) strategies.
