Research objectives • Problem-oriented quantitative survey on musicalbehaviour; • considerationofsocialstructuralcharacteristics (age, education, gender, …); • regard on high dataquality.
Fundamental assumptions • Identity constructionbythewayofaffirmationanddistinctionisoneofthemaindevelopmenttasksofyoungpeople. • Demonstrative musicreceptionisoneofthemostprovedstrategiesofdistinction. • Music receptionbehaviourisstronglyaffectedbyageandeducationofthelisteners.
Outcomesofthedigitalisation • Recordedmusicnolongerrequires a physicalstorage medium. • Via „theinternet“ a great deal ofmusicisavailableatany time (withoutpayment).
Outcomesofthe „web 2.0“ • Every „visitor“ of „theinternet“ not onlycanreceiveinformation but isabletotakepart in theshapingofitscontents. • Pastandpresentuseautomaticallyimpactsfuturesupplies.
