Metallic Bond • Formed among atoms of the same metal element • Non-localized, “sea of electrons” • Good conductors, lustrous, malleable, high melting points • Examples: Na, Fe, Al, Au, Co
Metals Form Alloys Metals do not bond with other metals. They form alloys – physical, homogenous solution of metals Examples: steel, brass, bronze and pewter
