MICS4 Workshops A 3 set series aimed at developing the capacity of UNICEF and partners to plan and implement a household survey in order to disseminate timely and high quality data on the situation of children and women. • Survey Design • Data Processing • Data Dissemination and Further Analysis
Workshop 3: Data Dissemination and Further Analysis The third workshop is for countries that, at a minimum, have produced a full set of national MICS4 tables even if these tables are still in preliminary form.

Workshop 3: Data Dissemination and Further Analysis Objective 1 • To enhance participants’ skills and knowledge on how to interpret MICS data;
Workshop 3: Data Dissemination and Further Analysis Objective 2 • To broaden participants’ awareness of the various tools and methods that can be used for effectively disseminating MICS data;
Workshop 3: Data Dissemination and Further Analysis Objective 3 • To increase participants’ understanding of potential topics for further analysis and available methodologies for the further mining of MICS data;
Workshop 3: Data Dissemination and Further Analysis Objective 4 • For country teams to draft plans for MICS dissemination and further analysis to take back to their country for national adaptation. • Last day – presentation!
Workshop agenda – how will objectives be achieved? • Through a balance of technical sessions addressing each thematic area of the final MICS report followed by group work in country teams • Through an experience exchange of good practices and lessons learnt from previous MICS along with exposure to new ideas for MICS4 analysis • Through ongoing work throughout the workshop by country teams to put ideas and knowledge gained into dissemination and analysis plans. • More than a third of the workshop time is dedicated to group work but participants may have to work outside of workshop hours too….
Presentations • Use laptops - open the MICS results/tables • Listen to the presentations • Ask questions
Working Groups • All participants of a MICS country as separate group • Country teams will be joined by facilitators to go over the tabulations • Last 10 minutes for comments from each table (facilitators or participants)
