  3. PIT Paper and Operations Overview

  4. Teams will identify Co-leaders • TheCo-leaderis responsible of each team meeting and reports of each session. • TheCo-leaderdevelops a calendar for professional development activities and Extension County, District, Multi-State and State events held within the District.

  5. Teams will identify a Recorder • The Recorder keeps minutes of each team meeting and reports on outcomes of each session. Post info to the web. • The Recorder assists in the creation of a calendar for professional development activities and Extension County, District and State events held within the District.

  6. Purpose of Extension District Program Implementation Teams • Assist in the planning, implementation and reporting of District wide Extension programming, specific to a programming area of expertise for each Extension District.

  7. Program Identification • Identify concerns of clientele and develop possible solutions for programming in each Extension District and multi State activities.

  8. Use of State Specialists • To develop and implement a systematic plan for integration of Research and Education Center Faculty and Campus Faculty in each Extension District and to increase efficiency in using State Extension Specialists.

  9. Identify and Request • in-service activities, • new faculty appointments • technology needs …………to deliver effective Extension programming for the Extension District.

  10. Develop Templates • Develop four-year county major program "templates" and annual county major program (CMP) "templates" in collaboration with State Extension Goal Teams that are relevant to the clientele needs of the Extension District.

  11. Multi State Programming http://extension-multi-state.ifas.ufl.edu/ • Develop strategies to collaborate with Extension County Faculty and State Extension Specialists of other States, including Research Programs.

  12. Marketing Strategies • Implement appropriate marketing strategies and technology transfer strategies (web site, list serve, etc.) of each Extension District Program Implementation Team.

  13. Funding Requests • Request special funding for District wide Extension programming opportunities and implement grant application strategies of each Extension District Program Implementation Team.

Team Composition • The PIT consists of team Co-Leaders, Recorder and team members within the Counties and RECs of the district. • Teams may invite appropriate Campus Faculty when appropriate REC Faculty are not located in the District. • Extension Faculty from adjoining states may be invited to be members of the District Program Implementation Teams. • County Faculty would choose to be on no more than two PITS during the program year.

  19. Team Operations • Annually, each PIT will meet in early fall for program planning prior to County Faculty developing their annual Plan of Work.

  20. Teams may meet in early in the year • Develop a PIT report, on the past years programming activities. • Recommend the next years in-service requests for District Faculty to Goal Team Leaders. • Set a meeting date early in the year planned around the late winter early spring • Rotate around GA, FL, AL • Plan a noon to noon start the day before with a day just for NW faculty
