  2. Time to get “foxy” • Check our class’ website and find the link for today’s date. Then, click on the link to PREVIEW the lyrics for the song (which is a poem!) that we will use for our review. • http://www.metrolyrics.com/the-fox-lyrics-ylvis.html

Figurative Language • Read through the lyrics and find the following things: • Onomatopoeia • Simile • Repetition • Metaphor (implied) • Imagery • Alliteration • Rhymes (make sure to say what TYPE of rhyme it is!) • Add each example to your Daily File. Remember to label them with the term AND use quotation marks.

  4. Using the lyrics, answer the following questions in your Tri 2 file Three minutes: • Which of the following themes is a best fit for the theme? (Remember: it should be based on the lyrics!) • “The fox is noisy just like any other animal.” • “The fox lives deep in the woods and people have a lot of fun singing about it.” • “The fox is a beautiful, mysterious creature and it should be protected from hunters and people.” • “The fox is a mysterious creature, and one can only speculate how it really sounds.” • Use specific lines/words from the poem to support your choice.

Continue adding… Four minutes: • Which of the following pairs of words are a best fit for to describe the tone and mood of the poem? • Curious, wondering • Silly, energetic • Victorious, encouraging • Uplifting, happy • Make sure to explain why your pair of words is the BEST fit. Reminder: There is more than one option that might work, but which is the most SPECIFIC relationship for this poem?
