Job description(continued) • Serve as an FFA Advisor for the chapter: -Assist students in coordinating FFA activities. -Prepare and train FFA students for competition. -Assist students in preparing SAE projects. -Assist students in developing a public relations program for the chapter.
Job description(continued) • Conduct fieldtrips both in and out of the district. • Coordinate and FFA Alumni Chapter. • Prepare and keep track of finances.

What is CDE? • CDE stands for career development events. • CDE’s help students to develop the abilities to think critically, communicate clearly, and perform effectively in the job market. • There are 24 CDE’s in FFA, ranging from communications to mechanics. • Examples of CDE’s: Creed Speaking, Ag Sales, Floriculture, and Livestock Evaluation.
What is SAE? • Student with an SAE learn by doing, with the help of their agriculture teachers they develop a project based on 4 SAE categories: • Entrepreneurship: Own and operate and ag business. • Placement: Get a job or do an internship. • Research: Planning and conducting a science experiment. • Exploratory: Explore careers by attending and agriculture career fair.
Classroom/Laboratory Activities • Instruction in and about agriculture that utilizes a “learning by doing” philosophy. • Agricultural education is an applied science that incorporates math, reading, history, and biological sciences. • Examples of this: -Tractor Driving -Dissection -Landscape design
