DFCS Child Welfare • Program Performance • Recurrence of Substantiated Child Maltreatment: 1.99% in May, the lowest we have ever recorded and far below the national standard of 5.40%. • Continued safe reduction of children in foster care • 11% reduction, from 9,316 in July 2009 to 8,284 by June 2010. • 3.03% of cases receiving family support services have returned as substantiated protective service cases over the past year.
DFCS Child Welfare • Safety, Permanency & Wellbeing • For the month ending June, here is a sampling of key performance indicators in safety, permanency and wellbeing: • Timely Response to Reports of Abuse/Neglect 97.3% • Timeliness of Investigations 98.3% • Every Child Every Month (Oct. 2009-May 2010) 97.3% • Federal goal is 85% for the current year. • Every Parent Every Month - Foster Care 80.0% • Every Parent Every Month - Family Preservation 84.0% • Family Team Meetings – Foster Care 56.0% • Family Team Meetings – Family Preservation 78.0% • These last 4 measures are not federal measures, but do impact the CFSR.
DFCS Child Welfare • Education 2010 Update • Number of students assessed : 678 • Number of students being tutored: 650 • Number of tutors working: 150 • Number of children/youth identified based on need: 1,552
DFCS Family Independence • Performance Highlights: • Medicaid Program Performance • Medicaid SOP for May is 98.3%. • Food Stamp Performance • Through Feb. 2010, the error rate for the current federal fiscal year is 1.31%. (98.69% accuracy rate).
