Outline • Base station detects the presence of any object • Sends the position of the target object • Rover moves to the desired destination • Intercepts with the target
Technical Description • Base Station • Ultrasonic Sensor measures distance to target • Estimates the range and angle of the target • Transmits the XY target coordinates using RFcommunication
Technical Description • Rover: tracking Bot • Receives XY coordinates from the base station • Reaches the coordinates specified • Does a local scan using IR sensors • Detects the object and homes in.
Principles Implemented • Real-time Data logging • RF Communication • Servo Calibration • Ultrasonic Ranging and focusing • IR sensing • Alpha-Beta Estimation Algorithm • Tactile sensing using whiskers • Implementation of most peripherals used in previous labs
Applications Anything that requires 2-D tracking and position & velocity estimation. Examples include: • Enemy Tank Detection • Naval Vessel Tracking • Sports
