National Land Transport Bill

The National Treasury highlights alignment concerns in the National Land Transport Bill, urging for clarity on funding and regulatory powers for an integrated public transport network. The bill's provisions on fare setting, municipal roles, subsidies, liabilities, and financial powers need refinement for effective implementation. National Treasury supports consolidating functions at the local level but suggests clear roles for municipalities. Addressing transitional roles and defining transport areas are crucial for the bill's success.
