  1. Quick Quiz 8-30-10 Time Start Use Dimensional analysis to convert 50 miles to centimeters meters (Hint: 1 Inch = 2.54cm). Finish Dimensional Analysis WS. You will build on your knowledge of Lab Equipment and how to use it.

  2. Use Dimensional analysis(what I have been showing you the last two days) to 22.5 meters to feet. (Hint: 1 Inch = 2.54cm) Known and Unknown Convert meters to cm 50 miles 5280 ft. 50 miles = ? cm x = 264000 ft Find conversion Factors 1 1 mile Convert cm to inches 5280 feet = 1 mile 1 inch = 2.54 cm 12 inches = 1 foot 264,000 ft. 12 in. x = 3,168,000 in. 1 1 ft. Convert inches to feet 3,168,000 in. 2.54 cm. x = 8,046,720 cm. 1 1 in. Finish Dimensional Analysis WS. You will build on your knowledge of Lab Equipment and how to use it.

  3. Quick Quiz 8-31-10 Time Start List the 4 most important safety rules in your opinion and give the reason why (Must be at lease 3 sentences each). You will gain understanding of the use of MSDS material and safety by working on the Lab Safety Worksheet.

  4. Quick Quiz 9-1-10 Time Start • Write these Vocabulary words down (along with the definitions). • Fire Extinguisher - a tank containing chemicals to put out a fire. Spray at the base of a fire. • MSDS - “material safety data sheet” gives detailed information on chemicals • Goggles -used for eye protection from chemical and projectile hazards • Fire Blanket - used to cover a fire and put it out. • Eyewash - used to remove chemicals from the eyes • Flask - glass container with a wider base than top • Burette - a thin glass tube with measurement marks. Has a valve at the lower end that allows a slow release of a volume of  liquid with great accuracy • Graduated Cylinder- glass cylinder marked to measure volume • Balance- used to measure mass • Beaker- glass container that is the same width top and bottom • Thermometer -used to measure temperature You will take the Safety Test then gain knowledge in the Sci. Method. Extra Credit: demonstrate your understanding of the safety guidelinesby completing a safety poster.

  5. Quick Quiz 9-2-10 Time Start What is the proper procedure to follow if someone has acid splashed on them? Lab:  Paper Tower Lab
