Tips to remember: -The Darker the Shadow, the Brighter the light source -Shadows Take on the shape of The object -A shadow is cast for every light source
The difference between painting a circle and a sphere …Use a range of tones
Paint with the contours… ……Not Against
Don’t paint the background AROUND the forms Backgrounds Don’t do that in reality
Create your shadows Carefully so your Forms don’t float
Remember….. Your background is part of your Composition also. Make your pencil lines or brush Strokes deliberate!
Why are we studying Shapes? The world around us is made up of shapes and forms. Everything you will ever draw is created from these basic shapes!
Assignment: -On a piece of news print PRACTICE drawing the forms on the table. -Draw or paint (acrylic) the configuration of items in the middle of the table. -Include as many items as possible in your composition -Make good use of your drawing paper, make sure you fill up as much Negative space as you can -Shade your images making sure to show black, white, and all the Grays in between.
