The Ontario Conference of Casualty Actuaries (OCCA) held it Fall meeting on Thursday, November 27, 2003 at Ernst and Young Tower, located at 222 Bay Street, Toronto, Ontario from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. A motion to approve the minutes of the June 5, 2003 Spring Meeting was carried. A motion to approve the new members and subscribers was carried. The officers positions were filled by acclamation: Bill Premdas, Vice President Patricia Hladun, Secretary-Treasurer A motion to approve the Financial Statements for the 2003 fiscal year was carried. Minutes of the OCCA Fall MeetingNovember 27, 2003 • The recipients of the OCCA 2003 scholarship were announced: • Shayan Iqbal Jafrani, University of Toronto • Aizaz Wahid, University of Western Ontario • Matthew Buchalter, University of Waterloo • The 2003 OCCA Golf Tournament was reviewed. • The following topics were addressed by our guest speakers: • Mark Yakabuski of IBC presented Ontario’s Auto Insurance System • Jacqueline Friedland of KPMG presented Automobile Insurance and Tort Reform • Barb Addie of Baron Insurance Services presented Automobile Insurance Reform: Is Public Auto Inevitable? • The meeting was adjourned.
