  2. The life of Amy Johnson • She was born in 1903. • She wanted to be pilot and fly a plane. • She hated school b/c some children called her “ugly Amy”

The life of Amy Johnson • When she became young, she went to London near an airfield. • Amy visited airfield and asked to be a pilot. • People laughed at her b/c at that time, there were no women pilots. • She worked very hard and passed test. • Amy became pilot • She was engineer for 2 years. • Amy bought a plane and called it Jason. • She decided to make journey for 20 days. • Amy died in 1941, in Aero plane crash.

  4. Achievements • The first woman pilot • showed people that a woman was able to fly. • very brave • broke many records. • made people interested in planes.

  5. Celebrations People sent her messages from all over the world. Everyone celebrated. The newspapers told stories of her adventures.
