Entering Classes into CPS • Open up the CPS (Clickers) on your computer • Choose the PREPARE tab at the top • Click classes & students on the top menu bar • Click new on the tool bar • Choose K-12 & click continue…make sure the box for the online option is UNCHECKED • Enter your name for teacher, and the class name, then click continue • Choose done…you’ve created your class & it’s time to enter some students!

Entering Students in CPS • On the student side, click on the icon of the student with the + sign • Enter your first student’s first/last name at the bottom of the screen (you don’t HAVE to do this….you could just assign clicker #s) • The pad number will enter automatically, but you can enter a different number if you need to change it • You may want your clicker numbers to be the same as their class number, if you use those • Make sure to save your work!!

  4. CPS: Questions • Click on the PREPARE tab • Choose lessons & assessments • Click NEW then choose lesson • Give the lesson a title

  5. CPS: Questions • Select the lesson in the left hand box • Click NEW and choose question

  6. CPS: Questions • A Question Author box will appear • Choose the type of question you would like to create in the drop down box MC=Multiple Choice T/F=True or False Y/N=Yes or No

  7. CPS: Questions • Type in your question and the answer choices • Select the correct answer • Save after you enter each question • Click the NEW button each time you enter a new question • Click CLOSE when you’re finished

  8. Engaging the Lesson • Make sure the CPS Sensor is plugged in • Click on the ENGAGE tab • Choose the lesson you want to use

  9. CPS: Engaging the Lesson Choose an assessment category (quiz, review, etc.) Choose the correct class (if you teach multiple classes…)

CPS: Engaging the Lesson • Choose the assessment method you would like to use by clicking the ASSESSMENT SETUP • Teacher Led: The teacher controls the pace of the questions, students can see the correct answer at the end, and the format lends itself well to reteaching missed concepts • Student Led: The students control the pace of the questions, students cannot see the correct answers • Student Practice: Students control the pace, they can review their answers, and they get immediate feedback about their answer choices

  11. Troubleshooting the CPS • If the lesson will not engage, make sure your receiver sensor is plugged into the USB outlet on your computer • Click on the Settings menu, and choose DELIVERY OPTIONS, then select the RECEIVER tab

Troubleshooting the CPS • The software will try to auto detect the receiver, and you should get a “Port Detected” message and a checkmark  click OK • If not , use one of the receivers and press any buttons….if you get a checkmark, then click OK  to exit the test, and OK to exit the settings
