  1. Calypso Program Overview

  2. If you have a CAD model, simply load it into Calypso. No model? Just start taking points.

  3. A new Calypso program with the model loaded.

  4. Ask the question. What are you interested in measuring?

  5. Loading more Characteristics.

  6. We have asked for Flatness, Roundness, Parallelism, and True Position.

  7. Click the feature being measured for the characteristic.

  8. Modify the measurement strategy for the measured feature.

  9. Define the features between which parallelism is being measured.

  10. The measurement strategy for the measured plane.

  11. Define your considered feature and its Datum structure from the model.

  12. The nominal position and orientation is taken from the model. No further modifications are needed.

  13. Define the Base Alignment using elements from the CAD model.

  14. Base Alignment is created. The origin is created on the model.

  15. Create Clearance Planes around the part. This defines the area around which your CMM will travel during inspection.

  16. Clearance Planes defined around the part.

  17. Ready to run the inspection.

  18. Graphical output for Roundness of the cylinder.

  19. Graphical output of Flatness of the plane surface.

  20. Typical Calypso inspection report. Deviations are reported on far right of report. This information is used to better the process.
