  1. Calypso GearPro Overview

  2. GearPro is the gear inspection software by the creators of Calypso. This is an introduction to the functionality of GearPro. Feel free to contact us with any questions!

  3. GearPro has the ability to measure straight and spiral Involute and straight and spiral Bevel gears. To change the type of gear you want to inspect, simply click a button. While you are here, you can check your measurement units.

  4. For both Involute and Bevel gears, you can begin creating your measurement plan by importing a gear data file. Many import options are available.

  5. The creation of an inspection plan involves the four icons along the left side of the main screen. By visiting each icon you define: Setup Gear Geometry Measurement Parameters Output/Reporting

  6. Gear Geometry can also be created through entering the specific dimensions. After the gear data has been entered, DISPLAY GEO will create a 3-D model of your gear that you can then export, if desired.

  7. For Bevel gears, any missing gear data can be entered in Gear Geometry. If reverse-engineering, clicking DATA GENERATION will allow you to scan the flanks as an unknown contour, allowing you to develop the plan from the Master gear.

  8. All inspection parameters can be manipulated allowing you to measure only what is important for your inspection. For Involute gears,all aspects of Profile, Lead, and Index measurement can be customized to your needs.

  9. If you are inspecting Bevel gears, the same Inspection Control screen gives you control to modify all aspects of bevel gear measurement including Topography and Index.

  10. Lastly, the Report Presentation can be changed to your specifications. Change deviation magnification, color, plot size and printer. Get the data you need in the clearest report.

  11. When your program is finished, you can start your inspection and gather data.

  12. Output from GearPro for Bevel gears inlcudes the Topography plot, index, and tooth thickness for the average and each individual measured tooth.

  13. The report for Involute inspection plans includes plots for Profile, Lead, and Index including Tooth Thickness, Runout and Dimension over Balls or Pins.
