  4. History • Discovered by Carl Wilhelm Scheele • Was discovered in 1774 • Found greenish –yellow gas that was oppressive to lungs • Scheele was studying mineral pyrolusite while discovered

  5. Uses of Chlorine • One of the most popular uses is Clorox bleach • Also used in Chlordane • A common use is also salt • Also salt bricks
