Third Party Fundraising Cuatro de Mayo Party Dan & Bailey McMahon
Put it out into the universe . . . We have been talking for quite some time about extending our reach and educating people about both the prevalence of domestic violence and the services of the YWCA. Our goal was to grow our audience. We then had the good fortune of connecting with a donor who said, “What else can I do to help?” and we agreed . . . A PARTY is a great way to bring people together.
What it takes to “make it happen” FRIENDS OF THE ywca, CONCERNED ABOUT THE ISSUE; a VENUE (WATER OR GARDEN VIEW IS ALWAYS NICE); Good food (thank you Ken’s creative kitchen for donating the food and service); Someone who can “tell the story” (Thank you Monica; you touched their hearts!); Bonus: a good cocktail recipe and a friend with a band!
What’s not to like about a Margarita Stand? Guests are welcomed with a festive drink by the McMahon ladies (and the Executive Director of the YW!)
The Giving Tree With items ranging from $25 to $1000; the Giving Tree brought in over $2000 in new items to Arden House!
A message of hope We provide a short program toward the beginning of the event: Overview of YWCA services; Why we do this; The many ways it’s “not depressing” work; The voice of a survivor; Specifics on how guests can support the work of the YWCA.
What it means to the YW? 100 NEW people know about the YW and our services; Victims were able to come forward and get support; A community learned about a very real issue and its prevalence; We were able to raise $10,455 to support our services; Philanthropy is FUN!
We’re happy to do this for you! Coordination of dates; event support; online ticket purchase set-up; provision of guest list; speak at event; set up and volunteer at check-in and donation table; provide ywca gear and literature; send thank you letters
